Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA)

Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS), launched in 2013 aims at providing strategic funding to eligible state higher educational institutions. The central funding (in the ratio of 65:35 for general category States and 90:10 for special category states) would be norm based and outcome dependent. The funding would flow from the central ministry through the state governments/union territories to the State Higher Education Councils before reaching the identified institutions. The funding to states would be made on the basis of critical appraisal of State Higher Education Plans, which would describe each state’s strategy to address issues of equity, access and excellence in higher education.

RUSA Government Science College Gadchiroli

Based on NAAC ratings, appraisal of State Higher Education Plans and the performance in last few years, Government of Maharashtra selected few Universities and colleges from Maharashtra to implement the RUSA scheme. Among the colleges which are governed by Higher and Technical Education department, Government of Maharashtra, five colleges were selected for implementation of RUSA scheme. It’s our pleasure to announce that the Government Science College, Gadchiroli has been selected as one of the college for implementation of RUSA scheme. Under RUSA scheme Rs. 2.00 crores has been sanctioned under three heads, (1) New construction - Rs. 70.00 lakhs (2) Renovation and up-gradation Rs. 70. 00 lakhs and (3) New equipments and facilities Rs. 60.00 lakhs respectively. Under new construction head, new multipurpose building has been proposed which also reside the canteen. The Zoology and Chemistry laboratories and other facilities in the college campus will be upgraded using the grants available in Renovation and up-gradation budget head. The existing equipment facilities in Chemistry and Physics department and class rooms will be converted in to the state of art facilities using the funds available in new equipments and facilities budget head. The new 38 computers and server will improve our computer and internet facility to a great extent. Similarly under new equipments and facilities budget head we are converting our existing library in to state of art library by purchasing the basic books in various subjects written by renowned authors and researchers and we are installing the library management system equipped with bar code reader, SOUL software and library server. Additionally we are subscribing the National and International Journals, which will help in improving our research understanding.

DPDC District Planning Committee Gadchiroli

District planning committee (DPC) of Gadchiroli gives financial support to Government Science College Gadchiroli for infrastructure development. DPC has provided generous funding to Government Science College Gadchiroli for new construction (Hostels, college campus development) and infrastructure development.
